The Baked Potato Booth
Each year, St. Joseph hosts a Baked Potato booth at the Oktoberfest in Mt. Angel. This year, the festival will be on September 15-18, 2022. We man the booth Thursday through Sunday in 3 four-hour shifts:
We need four people at each shift to cover cash and order intake, food preparation, food organization and cleanup. All shifts will have someone with a Food Handler's card, and everyone will be trained so that they are comfortable in expectations.
It's a great way to meet people, get to see the festival, and get a head start on your PIE hours for the school!
If you would like to volunteer to be at the Oktoberfest booth, please let us know below!
The Festival:
There is no more appropriate setting for an American version of the "Old World" Oktoberfest than in Mount Angel, Oregon. The small community was settled by German pioneers in the 1800’s and readily reminds one of the lush Bavarian Countryside.
Oregon's oldest and best-loved Oktoberfest began in 1966 as a traditional harvest festival to celebrate the bounty of the earth and the goodness of creation. It is the largest folk festival in the Northwest.
In the heart of Oregon, Mount Angel Oktoberfest brings 350,000 people to the Bavarian village every September. There is something for everyone at the Mount Angel Oktoberfest.
